MAKE MUSIC WOLLONGONG: HONK! Oz Saturday 21st January, 2017
Calling all musicians! - amateur, student or professional musicians are invited to participate in the
World Premiere performance of HONKSKI ORO by DVA (Linsey Pollack and Tunji Beier).

As part of HONK! Oz 2017 Street Music Festival, musicians from around the region along with attending HONK! Oz Bands will premiere “HONKSKI ORO” a large scale composition for massed street band, commissioned by WOLLONGONG CITY COUNCIL as part of their Large Cultural Grants program, and created for the occasion by DVA (Linsey Pollack / Tunji Beier).
Street bands travelling here for HONK! Oz will converge on the Wollongong Arts Precinct at 11:30am, Saturday January 21st, where they will join other professional and amateur musicians and students from around the region.
All musicians —individuals and ensembles, amateur, student or professional — are invited to join! Parts for Concert Pitch instruments (including chords), Bb instruments and Eb Instruments.
There will be two rehearsal workshops during HONK! Oz to help you become familiar with the piece.

RIFF RAFF RADICAL MARCHING BANDS (Sydney & Melbourne), KLEPTA KLEZMER, ORKESTAR LIZMORE, JUNKADELIC BRASS BAND, RAIO DE SOL SAMBA BAND, HORNS OF ORK, HOOT BAND, 100DRUMS.com, LONDON KLEZMER QUARTET, THE PROPHETS, OI MUSICA, VIC JANKO ORKESTAR, THE CON ARTISTS, CURIOUS RENDITION ORCHESTRA, FEMME FATALEs, BEATMEISTERS, WOLL CONSERVATORIUM LATIN LATIN JAZZ ENSEMBLE, CITY OF WOLLONGONG WIND BAND, mUKEas, MISTER CUTTLEFISH, BEATLAB Rebel Orchestra, HOUSE OF MAQAM, TRIBAL JEWELS.

On Saturday, 21st January, 2017 musicians should arrive at The Wollongong Arts Precinct (Near IPAC : 32 Burelli Street, Wollongong) familiar with the piece, warmed up and ready to play by 11.30am

Video shows a group of Wollongong community musicians working with Linsey and Tunji on HONKSKI ORO early December 2016 (apologies - audio quality is poor. ). This is the first attempt at reading through the tune. Performance tempo will be a little more brisk.
