PLEASE NOTE:
  • Bands Artists should be available Saturday 10th January
  • HONK! Oz aims to feature alternative community bands and associated arts.
  • HONK! Oz is a wind, brass, percussion kind of thing (e.g., Samba, New Orleans, Balkan Brass, trad jazz etc).
  • The Festival is 100% volunteer run. Everything is free - there is no income from ticket sales.
  • We use the existing infrastructure of the city for performance spaces. Bands don't necessarily need to be mobile, but you should be primarily acoustic and prepared to play with extremely limited tech. (e.g., a wind/brass/percussion band with a bass guitar) and suitable for outdoors.
  • HONK! is a free festival for non-professional community bands. There are no performance fees. We don't pay bands to attend HONK! (depending on funding available, we can sometimes offer travel and accommodation assistance for visiting bands).
