We take COVID Safety seriously and respect the rules and guidelines of our partner organisations. The HOOT band will be rehearsing in spaces requiring participants (16 years and over) to be fully vaccinated.

HOOT! pickup band for unattached (and attached) musicians 
with the Junkadelic Brass Band

HOOT! is the HONK! Oz festival pickup band. All Musicians attending HONK! Oz 2022 are invited to participate 

The repertoire is selected and arranged and facilitated by the amazing Junkadelic Brass Band from Western Australia  

HOOT! is for intermediate level players and up. Any instrument is acceptable - particularly if you don't need to plug it in. Open to the public and completely FREE!!  Local and visiting musicians attending HONK! Oz are invited to participate in this band. Members of the HONK! Oz 2022 bands are encouraged to join in.

Sam Golding is a trumpeter and sousaphonist. He has played with the Glorious Sousaphonics, Mara Big Band, The Fantastic Teriffic Munkle, 101 Candles Orchestra, Lolo Lovina and more . . ​. He has extensive experience with Musica Viva the schools program and has put together a number of parade and festival bands.

The HONK! Oz Street Music Festival acknowledges the Traditional Owners of Country throughout Australia and recognises their continuing connection to land, waters and community.
